Grit in the hatch button

Has anyone noticed that the button for opening the hatch seems to attract a lot of grit? Mine feels pretty rough at the moment...

Any tips for cleaning it out?

Compressed air? I do most my locks with either a can or if I remember when im doing my tyres, I give it a blast out with the air feed
