grr a little help?

  ph1 clio
hi all. Recantly brought myself another clio, this time a 05 plate 182, i mainly went for this one as the belts had been changed...

had a proper look over it the next morning at work to find the acc belt had jumped over a grouve, the service book has been stamped with a cambelt change at 40k under warrenty, now on 75k, car has arnold clark warrenty still so rang them up and said their was a noise coming from the acc belt trying to get a new one but they wont cover it, so i rang up the company who has stampoed they did the cambelt and they have no hisstory of the car coming in for a belt change, only servicing, so looks like a fake stamp,

So where does that leave me? car now needs a cambelt and acc belt kit,

bad thing is i got the car of off my mate, who has only had the car a month, he was sold it with the belts done to, the owner he got it from is on the forum,

Is the stamp from a main dealer?

Tbh I dont think you have a leg to stand on, but I'd get them done asap!

Bought, not brought.

How do you know for sure it's had the Aux belt changed?

Hi buddy, i dont no if the aux belt has been changed aswell, but i do have a recipt that the aux was changed, the stamp isnt a main dealer, although i work for a main renault dealership,

i have managed to track down a number of the guy who had the car when the stamp was out on but no answer, will keeop trying tho,

yep i will get it done asap, not driving the car untill they get done as cant risk it,

Sorry Bought*

I'd say you're just going to have to bite the bullet and pay for it yourself, warranty won't want to know as belts/pulleys etc will come under the same category of wear and tear such as brakes, tyres etc.

If you're extremely lucky and track down who did the aux belt change you might have a slight chance of them doing something about it but I highly doubt it.

Surely though if the belts were done at 40k, and the car is now on 75k, that it would need the belts done again anyway?
