Bought a private plate off someone, took all the paperwork into DVLA told me it would take a couple of days to process :approve: (that was Monday)

Phoned them today to see what was going on and they have told me that they are going out to inspect the other persons car (ramdom checking ...) so it will be start of feb before it is sorted :dapprove:

I am totally gutted... has anyone else had this random checking problem ??

When ever you remove or assign a plate they always say in the small print that the vehicle(s) should be available for inspection, but this is the first time I have known them to do it.

When i bought my first plate it took nearly 6 weeks

when i bought mine, the papers came through in 3 days, went to DVLA who scribbled on them for a bit and stamped them a bit... and was told i could put the plates on straight away!

so from phoning and buying the plate, they were on the car within a week!

When I got my reg plate they wanted to inspect the vehicle, well the motorbike it was on at the time, the dude went on holiday & I had to wait about 3 months in the end for it
