Youll need alot more than that mate, speak to Andy GDI

If you PM him hell answer everything you need to know as he is one of the first choice people to carry out the conversion.

i bought the engine of of e-bay and comes with the steerin column engine gearbox etc. ive bin told i wont b able to keep my power steering which is a bugger. it needs a new turbo but thats not a problem as i was gona get a new 1 any way. any helpful advice is apreciated

no there not

you can buy a new T2/T25 hybrid for £350 if you know the right people

i had my conversion done at GDI and ive got LOADS of pictures of it

search this forum and you should find loads of threads by me with pics in em, if the pics dont work search Clio Discussion as ive replied to someone in there with direct links to the threads a few weeks back, and the pics will work then

a lot, but then i had a lot done, rebuit engine, piper cam, gas flowed head, lightened flywheel, BMC CDA induction kit, lots of silicone hoses

Youll have trouble in a triangular lights Clio the wiring isnt easy as its multiplex.

There would be more costs involved but it would be possible. (You might need to drop some Mk2 1 stuff in to help

A 1.8 16V would have about the same hp as a GTT and can be done for £1400 in a Clio Mk2 1. Not sure how much for the Mk2 2 extra work though

Would appreciate it if you could forward anything you find out to me as well please mate as Im planning the same for mine later this year.

Thanks fella.

For the dials the Clio 2 box may fit the GTT, which would allow you to keep the dials. Im using a clio 1 box in mine as Im having some custom clio dials from the group buy. You dont have to lose the power steering, you can use an electric pump instead, I think you can get that from a peugeot.

Make sure you know what you want from the GTT engine, if you are looking at a pretty reliable 200bhp+ the costs can mount up very quickly, trust me, I know. And if you want top end speed out of it the 5 lump is not the ideal choice. But for 150-160bhp mods arent amazingly expensive, no idea on the actual conversion cost though.

150-160 bhp can be achieved on an almost standard GTT engine with extra boost and a few carb mods.. (sounds more simple than it is).... although your pushing it really.

after that its a case of keeping it together, and getting the power without overstretching the engine... that is where the engineering comes in.

Have you got any definite information on this, as i wouldnt mind fitting power steering to my clio GTT? What pug does the electric pump come from?

Brun, could you possibly PM me with all the stuff you had done to yours and roughly what it cost and what you think of it all.

My mates got a GTT doing nothing and if I can get it cheap enough I may consider the conversion myself.

Im fed up with N/A restrictions!

I would only consider Andy to do the work as heard alot of good things and seen your pictures.

it sounds like to much effort and ££££ to put in this engine in now. might just wait for k-tec to bring out a turbo for my 1.2. how long wil i have to wait?

Yeah, already been nattering to him about it mate. Really want to turbo the Dynamique but if it was going to cost silly money to do it right then I might eventually just have to sell it and buy a valver or something.

P.s. Dynamiques already have electric PAS peeps, so you could use that I imagine.

The mk2 2 have electric power stearing so you can use that no problem.

The dials though on the Mk2 2 are electric so you may have trouble.

You could fiddle the wires though.

Best of dropping a 1.6 in there from a Mk2 2 Clio will be about the same as a turbo 1.2 power and more reliable and cheaper (~£2k total)

A 172 is the better option for any more power but not as unique
