Will be interested to see what people reckon compared to Forza. Although not sure if people realise the "full version" won't be out for a year or so still, in which time Forza 3 might be out and make things very interesting...
I need to have another go on it with it set to sim as apparently when I played on it it wasn't. GT5 is the thing above all else that would sell me on a PS3. As much as people bang on about blueray etc I can take it or leave it but deep down I have been a GT Fanboy for years. Forza in terms of the drive and depth of the gaming experience blew the doors off that and I think GT5p will have to impress me alot over and above the stunning looks to make me buy a console on the strength of it alone.

that's exactly how I feel, I've just taken the gamble and bought the console before trying.

One of the other things putting me off is the w**k PS3 pads. They would probably result in me having to put my hand in my pocket for a g25 and a gaming seat of some sort or another.... expensive prospect for one game, lol.
is this a gt5 game update? if it is the ps3 update 2.20 i did that yesterday.
No Porsche/RUF ?!!
No shortage of Jap crap though. As with every other version of GT.
c**kpit view was already included, new online modes etc were added.
The install uses 2GB (possibly more) and I think the update is over 100mb.
you have to install the game when you first run the disk.
THEN
theres the latest game update.
ABS: You can turn it off instead of just down.
and some other things like c**kpit view, with the paddle shifts the guys hands move etc etc. approx 400MB
HALF WAY then it failed

The hand movements etc were also already included, they were in the Japanese version.
I stopped playing the Jap version last month so that I'd not get bored of it before the UK release It better be there waiting when I get home tonight
Urghh, just got a email from play saying that they apologise that GT5 was recieved to their warehouse late and therefor missed the release date. I got the email saying it had been posted on Wednesday night so im guessing it will come Sat now, as compensation they have offered a £3 off voucher for GTA.
Anyone else had this?
Nothing worse getting excited about playing a game at the end of the week and it doesnt turn up, will be cool if it does come tomorrow though.

Since we first learned of all the exciting new changes and content to the PAL and U.S. editions of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, there has been one dominant question on our forums: will the Japanese edition of the game be updated accordingly? It’s a legitimate question for many of the hard-core fans on GTPlanet, who imported the region free game back in January. Until now, Polyphony and Sony had remained mum on the subject, but today the official Japanese site posted the following news release:
“Gran Turismo 5 Prologue” will be undergoing a free online update to “Gran Turismo Prologue Spec II” at around noon on Friday, March 28.
The detailed content of the update will be announced on the day of the update, but there are some points of caution before performing the update. Please red before proceeding with the update.
(1) After updating, it will not be possible to replay the replay data created and saved before the update.
(2) Because the content of events will be renewed in the update, the event data before the update will be cleared, and those events will no longer be possible to play. (Acquired prize credits, cars in the garage, and clear information up to the A class will be carried over.)
(3) Even if an error occurs during the update, data downloaded up to the error is saved. Repeating the update will complete the download normally.
The update can be resumed as indicated below:
- Select News in My Page after starting the game
- Exit the game with the PS button, and restart the game.
* To update, you will need a Playstation 3 connected to the internet with a broadband connection, and “Gran Turismo 5 Prologue” (Either the Blu-ray disc version or downloaded version).
* All information listed in this website is for Japan. For information outside Japan, please refer to the website of your region.
While new vehicles are not explicitly mentioned, a “tuned car” is visible in the Spec II screenshot from their site (as seen in this post), so I believe it is a fairly safe assumption. Regardless, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out…
