gtt conversion

how muhc will it cost to have this put in to my car? what parts would i need? i need diffrent engine mounts? the renault 5 mounts will work? will i be able to do it myself or is it a specialist job?

just toying with the idea..

The Clio day and night mounts are the ones you need.

Your best starting with a whole doner GTT rarther than just an engine though.

It costs about £1.5k in labour to have one dropped in. However most people have other work done on the engine at the same time so price will rise quickly.

I quite fancied one in my Valver but the 5s that im aware of (even a very well looked after and tuned by BB one) are extremely weak and unreliable!!!

As much as the sounds brill and they can be 0-60 rockets i think id rather keep my Valver engine!!!

£1.5k seems a good price to have it put in compared to other conversions ive seen teh costs off, though you can buy a working gtt for that much so i think maybe ill do that, saying that though, the engines are well known to be unreliable, want a small turbo car as my next, and this would be diffrent, though doesnt realy seem worth while, i like the fiesta rss though thier bigger engine means more running costs

Mate i personally think youd be better off with a good fez!!!

Although youl need to pay a slightly more than you would for a good 5 my feelings are Fords are alot cheaper and easier to maintain than Renaults end of!!!

The fiesta looks better than a 5 and is much easier/cheaper to tune and is only 2 insurance groups higher, if i were you id get quotes on both and i rekon there wont be too much in it!!!

Id say on the reliability side of things the Fiesta would be better too!!!

thanks for advise, always wanted an rs fiesta, will be a while yet, just want something faster
