you cant unlock a 3g with software! you can jailbreak it but you cant unlock it, you need turbo sim or similar to do that.

^^^ why woul;d you want to unlock a 3g anyway they come with a contract or £350 pay and go.It wouldnt make sense.

If you buy one on PAYG or from Ebay and already have a contract with another provider......... SAME with any phone

decided to buy a turbo sim now i have a fully wrking 3g iphone on vodafone. however one last question if i then plug this into itunes for vids, music and pictures will anything change? cheers guys

Yes but they are v expensive and it wouldnt be cost effective

LOL it would be if you want an iPhone and have 12 months left of say a £35 a month contract. Taking out a O2 contract for 18 months at £35 a month when you dont really want one isnt cost effective. Any new handset be it SE, Nokia etc SIM FREE are around £250-350 +

So yeah there is a point and is has nothing to do with being cost effective if you WANT an iPhone
