Looks like fingers crossed its only the arm which is bent, but the steerings on the piss big style, and the shockers touching the body, but i think its being pulled back by the arm

A question, is 172 front suspension the same as say a 1.2?

Will probably be a bent lower arm and new wheel mate, i did the same thing. Anti-roll bar popped out, but was saveable.

fook, might be a write off on that mileage ;)

good to see one still going strong and looking like new at that sort of mileage.

Hope its not too dear to fix.

Ouch :( Looks horrible but can be refurbed for not too much cash. Can understand you being gutted though, I hate kerbed alloys - and it wasn't even your fault!

Pah, new wheel?

Refurb me thinks, only just bought them!! All are scratched so gives me an excuse to get them done i suppose

No they didnt stop, and i wasnt in any posistion to go chasing them lol

Ive had a quick peek underneath, and rack looks ok which was my major concern!

Everyone can see how far back the wheel is cant they? I was actually only doing about 30mph, because i think i got done yesterday for the 2nd time in 3 months, so 6 points :(

Cant afford to speed now

Anyone on here do cheap Renault parts? Ive just paid £200 the other day for genuine front and rear discs and pads :(

Had a similar incident in Pizza hut car park and ended up giving the kerb a nice kiss smack on the lips. turned out id smashed a ball joint and wrecked the tracking. Cost about 140 quid to sort but i aint sorted the alloys yet!

Im a technician for Ford so gonna bang it on the ramp 1st thing tomorrow.

Im gonna shop about for whatever it needs to keep costs down, so think ill just make sure it drives straight tomorrow, at the moment it veers right

Dont suppose you fancy resetting my wheel straight for me do you mate lol?? Being in the local area and all!

£200 for discs/pads...unless they were some decent ones...........hey saw u comin. i just found a receipt for same on jesus' williams.£47 from halfords n me trusty discount.

shitter bout the bump tho mate.lotsa nobs like that round here.

Always happen when you clean it. Some tosser put a trolley into my car after the full treatment of srp egp etc. No dents but an annoying scuff that can only be pc'd out.

Hope you get sorted mate. Just out of interest, hows it running at 100k?

Dont suppose you fancy resetting my wheel straight for me do you mate lol?? Being in the local area and all!

You need to gte the arm not the wheel arjusted to gte it straight don't go trying to bodge the wheell to make it right get the arms arms adjusted otherwise it will all go wrong.

From my personal experience i'd be worrying about the subframe too.

Bingo

Buckled subframe :(

Where the arm bolts onto it is rippled, actual arm looks ok though, but ill put one on anyway

Track arms alright, and anti-roll bar looks ok, but b*****d subframe!!!!

Rang a few places this aft, seems the 172 subframe is different to a 1.2, 1.4 one etc, they said its strengthened? Or not in my case obviously!

Ive tracked it up so it drives straight, when i put it on the gauges the N/S was toeing in 15! It goes suprisingly straight now actually, but still grinds when i turn left because the wheels touching the skirt. Until a 2nd hand subframe comes up though, it'll have to do

2 live - They were genuine Renault front AND rear discs and pads, inc bearings etc. I beleive the rear discs are £170 alone?

jayxx83 - It drives lovely! Well, did! Pulls in every gear, gearbox is nice and smooth, and still returns 36mpg! Only clue to its mileages are stone chips on the bonnet, which i was gonna get done, but looks like it'll have to wait now! Its got a full history with it though, plus i only paid £3250 for it :rasp:

All the Mk2 subframes are the same no matter whatever anyone says, the only difference with the RS subframe are that they have two extra holes in them for the extra front gearbox mount. And you can just drill them.

Get any Mk2 subframe, drill two new holes and bingo your away.
