Gutted!!

I have 17" wheels on clio 172 but when i have 2 people in back it rubs. so went to body garage to see how much it will be to roll the back 2 arches and the last time they did it they charged 100 quid for all 4 arches on my corsa b.

However its going to be 240 quid for the back 2 arches!!!! As he will need to re paint the quater pannels. So annoyed but i'm going to have to do it as 2 ppl in back is not good for the car.

before anyone says anything about the 17" wheels. I do want to keep them and i know it ruins handling etc but dont care. grrr

I think you've got wrong offset wheels as said, I had 17"s on mine and no problems, even with it lowered.

I'm not alone then... its good explaining what "that noise" is to people. that noise is my shitty magnex smacking the axle because morons made it.

I know of enough people with 172's on 17"s with no rubbing, so it must be your offsets as people have mentioned - unless your friends are massive

My 17's came on the car, I will be changing to 16's once I have paid for its 72k service, got the emissions light fixed, new top mounts, play in rack etc etc. French tat.

Mine was terrible when it was lowered, not so bad now but they didnt change this when they made the uprated systems either :S

When I had my 172 I had the same problems with my Magnex, sound great but a crap fit! My 17's rubbed when I went over bumps too fast! As for people in the back, very rare, tell them to get the bus.

Try Demon Tweeks, they do arch rolling that wont require the quarters painting.

£47 per arch last time i spoke to them.

tbh it'll be the way its fitted. I Had a magnex on my Cup, at first it banged..... but ALOT of fettling later it was fine. My cup was lowered all the way down on GAZ coilovers at the rear.

that wasnt the reason you had to buy new rear arches. I NEVER had people in the back of my old 172 but the rear arch liners still got torn to pieces. They dont serve a purpose if you underseal everything properly anyway.

They wasn't new rear arches, got it for sec hand for £2

Just reseal the arches for sub £10......its not rocket science:boring:

ring Demon Tweeks, they'll tell you they offer paintless arch rolling, i think they heat the panel up to ensure the paint doesnt crack.

i've got a nissan 200sx on 18's and they don't slow it down, they make it quicker coz i can actually get grip on the tarmac, its got a full tein suspension kit which makes it lower and a full bodykit...i spose you think thats chav? oh and my 18's are lightweight drift wheels!

I also have a standard 182 in liquid yellow...i spose thats chav coz its yellow and its a little french hatchback?

I also have a landrover discovery which has external rollcage,35 inch tyres on standard steel rims, 2" suspension lift kit, bucket seats, harnesses, stainless exhaust comeing out the rear quarter and a snorkel....i take it thats chav aswel?

Everyone has different taste's!

I would say most chavs like lexus lights but i know a bloke in his 40's who is not a chav but likes modifying cars and he likes lexus lights. I think there disgusting though!
