gutting a cat

i no decat pipes can come in silencer type boxes, so is it possible to gut a standard cat. pull out the mesh interior, leaving a hollow chamber??

p.s. as u can see, im a stingy bugger, so if i can buy a nakered cat from a breakers, and create a decat pipe on the cheap, them im up for it!lol

In theory yes, you could just mash up all the material inside the cat and leave it hollow.

i dont think the RSPCA would be impressed if you took all the insides of a cat out, and then fitted it to your car

my m8 has a pug gti6 his cat was totally sh*gged he scooped out the remains that had started to clogg things up and it worked hes also is a machanic so i think he knew it would b ok

yes it works easy,

take your own cat right off and cut into it from the top, pull the stuffing out and then stick (!?) the tp back on, it wont be a problem with MOTs and insurance because it looks like a normal cat from the bottom,

P.S my mechanic has done it to a mondeo V6 and a Escort Si 130ps and they both sailed through the MOT
