right i think im gonna get H&R's i was going for FK's but everyone says spend the wee bit more for them!

so what i would like to know is all information i need, cheapest place for getting them, whats the deal with camber and stuff, does anyone have them wound right down, i have 17" leggeras which will have 215/37/17 tyres so same radius as the 16' turini's etc

thanks

yea id be interested in info about camber last time i put koni`s on i went through tyres every 2 months !! 2% out on each side, until my local garage who fitted shocks/tyres admitted they couldnt do camber/tracking !!

any info on these pls.

I'd bin the 17s in favour of 16 too. Might be an issue with rubbing seeing as you have 215 rather than 205s, also the width of the wheel you are running and the offset will also effect whether and how severely it rubs. on 17s running 205s in the correct offset you can wind the back all the way down with no problems. however once you get over a 40mm drop at the front you will need to mod or remove the arch liners and mod the bumper/wing bracket. You wont be able to run the fronts with the lower spring cup wound right down the thread as the wheels will be hitting bodywork all over the shop. You'll be able to get it easily low enough to look good at the front but tbh for a better drive and less issues with rubbing stick to about a 55mm drop at the front.

whats the diffo between the H&R and the FK`s ??

in standard 16" turinis how would you know how low to go front v rear ?? would you have same height drop is there a meauring tool or do you just measure up from the top of the alloy ?? how could that be acurate with difference center arch size from to rear.

i guess you have to work out how many times in % you turn the front and rear to get an even match.

I've not driven a car with FK's so i couldnt tell you. i would assume they are firmer than the H&Rs but dont know.

I'd wind it all the way at the rear and then set the front at whatever height you feel appropriate dependant on how much hassle with stopping rubbing or what the roads are like locally to you. measuring height can be dont from the sill to the ground if its a nice flat surface, or from the centre of the wheel up to the arch/wing. obviously dropping the same amount front and rear or close to the same amount is preferable. As for accuracy short of using something other than a tape measure and an eye and being as accurate as possible there isnt much you can do.

meggerman, i have also wondered how you gauge the height on coilies..

i was almost ready to order..but im going for the FK now, theres a group buy and if 5 names are there they willm only be £425 deleivered!! now thats cheap!

loony, the sidewalls on the 35's are tiny so i hope they wont rub too much, what i would hate is to lower my car and not be able to drive it at 10/10ths over bumps, dips, crests without worrying about rubbing..i think i'll lower it down onto the turinis' 1st of all..

Id stick with 16s tbh the drive is far better, i had 17s on the 172 with H&Rs on and noticed a massive improvement with i put my 16s back on. As for FK vs H&R H&R supply the OE fit suspension on the porsche GT3 so make of that what you will.

The FK's are firm over really rough roads, but quite nice most of the time. Much better than springs anyway.

Had mine laser aligned with 1.5 deg neg camber.
