Had something really unfortunate happen today

Stolen keys! I'm scared about the person knowing where i live so does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to get new locks? Tried searching buy haven't had any luck

Just pull the plug off the coil pack and disconnect the battery.

Once thats done, report it to the police. Because if it does get nicked WITH THE KEYS! the insurance aren't going to believe you!

When i had a quote off brentacre they told me any key on my car key ring is coverd and the locks so u may want to consinder them in the future.

Seriously though, give the old bill a bell and get it blocked in.

Your insurance may even cover it and get it recovered to a compound for the night/till sorted.

As you say they dont know where you live, very few people will bother with car keys if they've got no clues as to your home address.

I was making a delivery at work and forgot to take the keys out of the van ignition, it was one of those quickly in and quickly out deliveries and you just dont think that someone will steal a bright yellow van with my work signs all over it! So they stole it and the van had my bag in it with my car keys in.

Peperami - They know where i work so they will just go there, press the button on the keys and see which car unlocks.

Does anyone know how much it will cost for a complete lock change?

A lot. Are any chance of tagging it onto the works insurance or are you in major s**t with them now?

Programming keys isn't a cheap thing to do. Locks even less so. How handy are you with a spanner? You could see some of the breakers on here (Pay the £10 to join and you'll be able to see them) and then you can swap the locks etc. Ignition barrel will be the tough one.

Orrrrr... Find a local place that will cut/program a key for cheaps and then sell it..

Locking wheel bolt will be the least of your problems. It's sensible to keep that in the car. Otherwise how would you change a tyre if you're miles from home?

So the car's at work, and the van has where you work on it. They'll be able to find you car that way... but as has been said, what else is in the bag?

Were your house keys on the keyring, and was your licence in the bag or anything else with your address on it.

Phone the police and insurance immediately.

My cars at home because i used the van to get back and forth from work thanks goodness! My wallet was at home aswell which was really stangre cos i usually leave it in my bag so im EXTREMELY lucky!
