Halifax cancelled insurance

quick rant, changed my insurance over to the 182 a little over a month ago, at the same time on the blower explained Lloyds were being slow with the proof of no claims. guy tells me not a problem he can confirm with them over the phone and update the records.

return from 3 weeks in Cardiff with work to find a letter stating i have 14 days to produce proof of no claims discount. followed by a letter stating my insurance had been cancelled from the 9th of this month. <breathe>

phoned halifax to enquire wtf they think theyre doing. loads of apologies (the guy had made a note on the system that he was supposed to call Lloyds) insurance re-instated.

my main issue is that my 1 month old motor has been uninsured for 6 days. can you imagine what would have happened had it been stolen!!!!

end of rant

Even worse mate, what would have happened if Johnny Law decided to give you a tug....no insurance = circa 6 points...plus costs!!! Also, if youd have had an accident, then you wouldnt have been covered...You want to grab them by the short and curlies, as this is what they all do to us around renewal time.

:) result, got a £100 refund on my policy :) quite pleased with the recompense.

theft was the only thing that coulda happened as i was in a pool car from work while i was away (so so glad to get back in the clio after 1.6 focus) and the clio was @ home in the drive.

still quite scary as im pretty sure it would have been me a rediculous amount out of pocket had it taken a walk. you reckon the insurance company wouldnt have wriggled outta the payout? i think they would.

cheers though peeps it was good to get it off me chest ;)
