halogen bulb in xenon projector ?

  Clio 172 2002
I have the duel optics headlights ,those silver ones with the projectors for HID's.
thing is, my HID's are done for and I really don't want to spend a small fortune for quality HID's ,and I also don't want to spend a dime on some cheap Chinese HID kit that would die on me after 2 months.

Is it possible to use a quality halogen HB3 bulb ( like Osram nightbreaker or Philips X-treme power etc... ) in the projector housing ?
I mean would the light be sufficient ? or am I insane haha

You will probably find the cheaper kits aren't to bad if you choose wisely , I have used a few over the past few years and they have always lasted

You can use halogen bulbs without any issues, although the HIDS will probably give a better beam (due to more focused light output). I've always had good experiences with chinese kits, like this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/xeno...-kit-single-beam-H13-hid-bulb/1768777627.html . And when the bulb or ballast breaks, it'll only cost you a small fraction to get a full kit again.

You will need HB3/9005 bulbs yes. I'm running with 4300k, but 5000k is also good.

Maybe idea to close the other thread? http://www.cliosport.net/threads/hid-advice.782740/

They're Halogen projectors anyway. They weren't really meant to have HIDs in them in the first place, it's just that they don't blind people when you fit HIDs in them.

So Halogen will be fine.
