Handbrake cable

Yes ive just snapped my handbrake cable, clever i know.
How much are the to replace?
Am i better off getting a garage to fit it or is it possible to do yourself? If so how?

About £10 each, replace both. Its not difficult to do, but it is a pain in the arse if you havnt got access to ramps.

k thanks, can probably get the students to do it at college.
Just went to the local garage and he wanted £60!
Where can i get the cables from?

Also my foot brakes gone really soft and feels loose, can it be because of the handbrake?
