Handbreak warning light

  Audi TT 225
I picked up my new 172 yesterday and about half way home the handbreak warning light kept coming on and off while I was driving down the motorway.
If I lift the handbreak a little and put it back down it stops for a while but eventually starts again flickering on and off.

Any ideas?

either dody connection on the actuall lever, or low brake fluid

Or just worn pads. My rear pads were almost down to the metal when they were changed and I was getting the warning lights you're on about. Changed the pads and the warning lights went away!

Mine lights up too along with the 'stop' light every time it gets a bit of lateral G. The brake fluid level is fine though - should i be worried?

Its been suggested that cocking the inside rear wheel can cause this, sending the esp into a tizz. That may be just b****cks though.

yeah when your pads wear down, the fluid level drops, hence low brake fluid warning light!

ESP is crap, you get the wheel off the ground and it will go spaz

Thanks for the advice... I think it has new pads front and back not too long ago but I'll check anyway. The fluid seems fine but it seems to come on if I spank it on fast roads it doesn't hapen at low speeds
