You heard of the hard drive in the freezer trick? Ive never tried it but i think some people have got it to work.

I read somewhere else that you can repeat this several times, amounthing to max 20 mins of use. Still its worth a try.
Hard drive starts to spin up and then jumps, speeds up jumps etc etc.
