For the lap belts that should bolt around the handbrake area, how have you guys fixed them?

Is it a case of drilling a hole behind the handbrake and getting a load spreading plate or can I fix them somewhere else? To the subframes perhaps.

My seats had a hole where the bolt fit attaching the pretensioner bolted on to the side
