.. has to buy PC from Pc world

Don't ask why, my mates dad has to buy from PC world.

Budget is high at around 1k+

Brands to avoid? packard bell? compaq? fujitsu? all? lol

Apparently saw a 300GB hd, dual processor intel?, 512mb graphics, 2 gig ram packard bell + 19" monitor for under 1k in their, spec sounds to good for the price?

Imagine its all cheap components?

tbh ive got a packard bell that i got from them as just a tower, without a monitor etc, about 3 years ago.

Nothing has gone wrong with it at all, so i can reccomend them.

Dont be fooled with the PC Performance s**t they try to flog you though, when i worked there we was told to flog this s**t out of it, and its not really worth it.

I got a Packard Bell PC from PC World about 3/4 years ago. It cost around £700, so isn't really what I call high speed lol :(. Because its a Packard Bell PC, I sometimes have to install some things e.g. My USB Modem with a patch from there website and its the same for a number of things. Its old :(, so I don't know how good they are now?.

Has he thought about Dell PC's?. I know you can only get them from the internet,Telephone or sometimes QVC Shopping Channel, but I have heard good things about them...

It all depends what he wants, does he want something he can work on himself and upgrade later?? If not sure a pc world sourced pc will be ok for him
