Have I been a fek wit: fitting new top mounts....

I have to do some work to the suspension and had a knocking n/s top mount so decided to swap them out at the same time...simple right?

Well as this photos show, apparently not

The top nut is FT and yet the rubber isn't sitting in the turret top?

This is the order I assembled it in...

This is what it looks like compared to the old one (new on the left-obviously)...help me Obi Wan (please). Cheers Ian

Open the bonnet and look at them, get someone to sit in the car and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. You'll soon see.

Thanks for all the replies...well I put the o/s on yesterday and exactly the same issue...but been out and the car feels fine. Weird way of doing things!!
