or is my valver faster with the cat on than decatted?

had the cat refitted 2 put 12months mot on the car and i now dont want to fit the decat back on?

starts up much nicer and doesnt pop and bang annoying other people
 


Will it not be a bit faster lower down the revs but slower up top?

Im not sure but does the torque not move up the revs with the cat taken off?

I could be talking ballacks!;)
 


I believe its all to do with back pressure. Removing the cat could reduce the back pressure too much, ie sapping power.

erm, nah lads(n bubs) the valvers defos faster with a cat and magnex cat back system



sort it out dont belive what they tell you else where

on and i can not change alot easier as the decat was getting so hot making gear changes harder and stiffer, i was told this was my problem and though f**k that sh*t but its miles better with it on

maybee, it has more power and torque

but why does my car feel better than ever? you floor it she goes, and revs harder, im sticking with the cat for a few days then il re fit the decat and see whats what

oh and mpg is better, i was using about 15quid got 110 miles ish, now iv done that and got plenty of fuel left

but my fuel gauge dont know wether its coming or going with the lowering poor girl!

i wont have her much longer, was meant to be going to night but iv had to delay as the old man whos gt turbo i was buying couldnt part with it! lol

had tears on the phone and offerd to send me a cheque for the cost of the hpi check but i said nah its ok

oh and bubs before you say there slow, it had 175bhp proven with a sebchip, bleedvalve(only running std psi)and forge dumpvalve, piperx and magnex

il miss the valver, but il get another one as their a classic, just an older cheaper one! but iv just got the bug for these as they do a sh*t hot 0 2 60 with these mods, this car has pulled a 6.2 and quarter of 14.9 and has coilovers to keep the handling up!

id still say the cliovalver is one of the best hot hatches and i will own another, il be back, im very tempted to just not sell her and store it

as there old cars and since being 11 a valver clios been my dream and getting one at 18 was just brilliant and the fun iv had in it is brilliant



she done me proud agaist a 2litre nova last nite

around or back roads from boro to redcar the rust heap even tho was quicker couldnt leave the valver for sh*t due to the bends

Bloody hell, the roads from Boro to redcar are twisty.. it would have had you in a straight line though.

KEEP IT, spend the money on a new engine, or a turbo converstion or something

yeh he was leaving me on the bends but the nova just couldnt get away as he couldnt cope on the roundabouts

get Ben r to modifiy the head and stick a low milage megan 2.0 bottom end it there. will pull low 15s high 14s then.

Are there any sensors on the valver that might lower the fuel/air ratio when the CAT is removed?

I think the 172 has some.
