Haynes - Clio Max Power book

  A silver Honda

Ive got it. Its got some useful basic tech stuff for newbies and some nice step by step guides on how spoil a nice looking car.

Here isnt much in the way of servicing advice in there, you should really get the proper Haynes book for that.

They only make them for the common as muck cars! The Saxo, Fiesta & Escort, Nova, Golf etc. Although in a year i reckon theyll be making one for the Mk2 Clios.

I would have thought so, seeing as every other car I see on the road is a new shape Clio LOL

Seriously though, if you are new to working on your car, then yes I would defeinitely recommend it. I can do a fair amount of jobs on my Clio and I still found it useful, mainly because its not aimed at mechanics. The amount of times Ive looked in the Haynes and just not recognised the grainy black and white pictures at all...yet in the Max Power one, ANYONE can do the jobs that are explained.

Ive got both and theyre both useful in different ways.

Thanks Nick. Appreciate that. Will get a copy. Anything that makes life a bit easier has to be good :).

There are some inaccuracies in there, particularly relating to the Williams - e.g. "bigger bonnet bulge" etc.

very true, and i think it lists the ideal wheel offset as 42 or something like that, which is wrong

the OE offset for the Mk1 Clios is 36, so anything between 35 and 38 is fine

and, from what i understand, the ideal offset for the newer Clios is 38, pretty certain thats what Fred reckons ?
