Hazard lights won't turn off?

So I parked my car, walked down to the shops and came back.
I lightly flicked the rear quarter pannel of the car as I was walking back.



Then the hazard lights turn on.
I unlock the car, lock the car, get in the car, push the buton, lock the car again, unlock, lock, etc etc etc etc

the only thing that will stop it is if i hold it down.


I tried takning out the indicator fuses etc but it didn't do anything, so now i've got a folded up piece of cardboard wedged in there to stop it from blinking.


anyone know what could be wrong?

its the switch mate...renualt will supply you a newun for about £20ish. easy to fit! takes two mins, common fault. nothing to worry about although it is required for MOT purposes.

oh just get it off the scrappie.. will cost u a fiver..

mine was free from scrappy, just thrown in as i bought a load of bits.

quick fix for now is take switch out, unplug it from back and pop it back into dash, only difference is hazards wont work and it sticks out tiny bit more than normal.

i did this for couple weeks but needed hazards on a rainy bend when alternator collapsed and snapped aux belt on dci. honestly, it wouldnt have helped.

I have a similar problem with hazard lights, can anyone help (172 cup)?

They started flashing when car was locked at work on Friday (drained the battery).

I have replaced the hazard switch this weekend and it is still flashing?

They flash when the engine is off and when the engine is running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....................

same happened to me mate pressed it the other day wouldn't go off then packed up on me! typical french build quality take it you just pop the facia off the un-plug the switch?.
