header/ expansion tank and water loss

  K20 eg 217 whp.
if the cap is fooked will this cause a water loss due to incorrect pressure ?

i also noticed a small crack which is never wet but could i still be loosing water fom it?

i can hear a hissing noise after i have been driving from the header tank so its loosing pressure and causing water loss?

really confused as nowhere is obviously wet but the waters going down quite a lot, no mayonase in oil cap or smoke just normal water vapour from the exhaust

HELP!

Sounds like you need a new header tank it will only leak out when hot.

A badly sealing cap will cause the problem though your right.
