HEADGASKET... ect

  1.4 16V '52
Hey guys,

Thank you for all your previous help here. Just gonna throw another question at you all!
I have 1.4 16V I have recently replaced the radiator. Today being hot I just checked the coolant and its full of black oil see pic> (http://tinypic.com/r/dy84t5/5) but there is no water in the oil.
The engine is on 108K so what do you all think, headgasket?

I'm going to flush the coolant tomorrow and if it comes back I guess I better look for an engine replacement.
Also, can anyone give me a link to the lower gearbox mount ? I have replaced the top one and its still moving !

Here a pic of the cap: http://tinypic.com/r/wo2u8/5

Cheers,
Luke

could also be the gasket on the thermostat housing that has failed as water and oil run through it.
is it loosing water? does the engine over heat? does the engine run ok?

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
could be the stat housing/head end plate itself has a crack in it, especially if it's the plastic type

It was loosing water but the cause was the RAD was shot and it was Pi$$'n out from the bottom its not loosing any now though. The engine hasn't over heated the temp always regulates just over half.
Should I take the thermostat housing off and check it over ?

There is a leak in the engine somewhere which is leaking oil (somewhere near where the gearbox meets the engine) I haven't looked into it yet.
What is a 'head end plate' Dan ? Sorry could you dumb it down a little ? haha !
Really appreciate your comments guys, thanks.

Ive had a head gasket skimmed and all done on my 57 plate when it went a few months ago. Are you getting any yellowish gunk on the top of your oil cap? I was getting that and it wasn't condensation or engine cool. Also had the big stop sign and engine light nearly cried driving down the motorway however turning my heating on hot cooled the engine down so. May be a crack somewhere get it on a ramp and look under it mate.

Just looked at the thermostat housing today, I have the metal type which oil and water flow through, Just realized its pi$$in out with oil!
Iv'e ordered a new seal and will let you all know once it's done. Hopefully the oil is mixing with the water there.
Iv'e got no engine management light or stop lights on.

Wish me luck!
