Headlamp washers.

At least its a bit different on the 182. Ive not lost a ball this time, instead they have just stopped working. It doesnt make a difference if the lights are on auto or turned on by the stalk.

I suppose Ill have to hunt for a fuse at the weekend.

Real dumb question, are you out of water? Or see if after you have done the wash thing if there is any puddles under them as it might just be a tube thats popped off.

I do hope its not the motors on the washer pump

They are a common fault, they work on a reversable motor. When you select front it spins up one way and the rear selection makes it spin the other. These parts break real easy....Had it done on mine not long after i bought it.And to top it off you loose your car for a whole day because its crap to fix

Ill look into it a little more at the weekend.

The windscreen still sprays fine but absolutely no action from the headlamp washers. I noticed it when the lights didnt flicker the other day, then this morning I stood outside the car and sprayed. I ended up soaking my dam self in the process.

Cheers guys.

Surely if the screen washers are working then its not a fuse fault as they must be fed by the same pump?

Thats what I thought. Maybe a hose has come off somewhere, but then Id expect a massive wet patch under the car.

Ill try them out tonight on the car park at work as its dry there so Ill be able to tell.

hows about mine then , the base of the washer jet is cracked (that holds the ball), dunno how it happened ??, anyone else had this ??

Oh well, its not the fuse so it looks like that are actually broken.

Ill add it to the list of small things I need doing next time it goes in. They can look at that while the fix the alarm and knocking (3rd time lucky!!).

I was wondering that (not that I need to worry for 3 years), I reckon that would be a fail as Xenons are supposed to have washers by law.
