This has been bugging me for ages, and since some of you reminded me
of it in my last picture whoring thread, I got it done!

Was a lot easier than I thought it'd be.
Used 800, 1000, 1200, 2000 grade wet and dry paper.
My mate brought his megs polisher round and finished the job for me.

They've come out great, makes SUCH a difference, and they were, THAT bad.

It started out like this (pretty bad as you can see)

Started on the wet and dry, then cleaned it off before polishing.

And this is how they came out! :approve:

My headlights are doing the sam, there stained and yellow with minute scratches if you like.

How did you make them look so good like yours?

We used some megs' polish, not sure which one it was!
I remember my mate telling me it was one that was going to cut into it alot :S
I'm pretty pleased with the result though.

And yes, its really, REALLY easy to do!

They came out Great!
Big improvement.
Paint correction next?

Yeah, massive improvement!
I think so, it'll either be the next week or after my holidays, got a few bits
of body I need to get sorted too. You might be able to see a scratch on the
drivers side wing, and there's one of the back thanks to poo parkers!

Was thinking about getting Oz F1's instead of 172 wheels, unsure yet though!

good job, i'll be doing the same this weekend! Bloody stone ships!!! What grit did you use for wet and dry?

The sanding was done by hand (over a sanding block). You could sand it on speed 1 on a DA if you wanted. Just be careful with the pressure you apply with the more corse paper.

So you Just rubbed vigoriuosly with the 800 grade wet and dry paper gradually going up in the grades to take off the rough surface then waxed to make a clean finish? (Im making a start at the weekend and nevee tried this before) Is that pratically whats involved? Rub rub rub using the different grades?

Cheers

Okay, but i rub my arseoff on each light using the grades 800, 1000 etc...building up? Mine are near enough the same condition as above but dont mind the donkey work by doing it by hand

  Maybe a 172 Cup..
In the guide a bonnet buffer that attatches to drill is used, obviously with care. Can get em' for about £7 from the bay of E..

That's what I'll be using to do mine...

Follow the link I posted on page1 and it will give you a detailed list off all the grades of wet/dry you need mate.

  "Navy" N17 TWO
The lower the number the more coarse/rough the paper is ;)

So the order would be 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, etc

Higher number on the paper, the finer it is :)
