Headlight Test

As i worked for VAG for around 4 years i managed to collect some items.

I had standard VAG headlight bulbs in the car but while i was at halfords i seen the Ultra Brilliance bulbs where buy one get one free so i bought them as it claims to be 120% brighter than standard bulbs.

Today i fitted the halfords Ultra Brilliance bulb in the drivers side and i left the standard VAG bulb in the passanger side so tonight i will see if there is any difference

Well after 2 nights of using one halfords bulb and one standard VAG bulb there was NO difference at all and they where a waste of time. I took the bulbs back to halfords for the supervisor to say that they are 120% brighter than standard halfords bulbs and not standard VAG ones or Renault ones and so i asked what car manufacturer puts standard halfords bulbs in the car from new ?

Dont waste your money on these are they are just the exact same as any standard bulb.

My clio clearly had the standard Halfrauds ones - pressed for time to get new ones, so I got a pair (also half price), and they made a huge difference imo.

Mine where total pants and made no difference, I do understand that doing by eye is not 100% but to claim up to 120% brighter i think is total pi$h.

Its £29.95 a bulb and for that you can go to any motor factors like Euro Car Parts and but a twin pack for £17.50

I took my 35w 6k HID kit out of my Peugeot today and replaced with standard halogens... didn't realise how shite standard bulbs are

Ive used them before and there was hardly and difference between the standard and halfords uprated but now i stick with the osram nightbreaker plus's as there the only bulb i think you can phisicaly see a difference on the road

The halfords ones claim up too 120% difference but what they dont state is its only over there halfords range and not a standard OE headlight bulb

Exact same as mine mate. 6K is perfect but I have projectors so i'm not quite blinding every road user. Standard bulbs are so s**t though.
