Headlights question

All,

I want to replace the bulbs in my car to something a bit brighter than the standard bulbs. I was looking on eBay and have seen several upgrade packs which only seem to cost about £20 for a set, but I'm seeing posts on here from people quoting hundreds of pounds to convert. Am I missing something?

I think your talking about HID headlights, they're xenon headlights I think, you can buy bulbs which are supposed to be brighter and fall further than the original bulbs and give of a whiter light.
