Headunit probs

Just got a new JVC KD-SH701 and it's not holding the memory, switch power off and take the keys out then turn it on again and all my settings are lost any ideas

sounds like you have the switch 12dc and the permanent 12dc around the wrong way

I am not sure of the colour wire used with the JVC head unit but i know the sony one is yellow and red

have a look and swap them over, if you sent me a picture of the wiring loom and the back of the head unit i well tell you want you need to do!

ok i have checked the web and from want i have found the JVC is the same yellow and red.

whats happing is you have the switch DC to the permanent supple, and the permanent supple to the switched DC.

So when the key is in and yuou switch the car on you and then getting to 2 supples to the head unit with it needs to work, if you swap them over the permanent supple well be wiring in the the backup memery.

The reasion your losing it is as soon as you remove the key your removing the hold off voltage to the backup supple!!!!

Swap the 2 over and you should be fine (the main power connect normal have a join when you can swap them over to save cutting the wire!!!!

cheers lads went on to the jvc web site and got the intallation guide yestarday got it working i thought that was what it was rob but didnt know what way they went, cheers
