Heat resistant lacquer + primer

Car  fiesta 1.25
If i use heat resistant lacquer + primer on my engine cover for example, does that mean i wouldnt need heat resistant paint?
cheers

I'd say still use heat resistant paint, because the lacquer and primer will heat up and still transfer it to the paint. Worth spending a couple of pennies to be safe.

to be honest, does the engine cover get *that* hot? as in the summer, ive had roofs n bonnets so hot you cannot touch them with your hands, yet the paint is fine. just prep it well, clean it well and use regular paint.
