Heat wrapping 182 manifold

Hi Guys,

long time member returning from the great beyond.

i'm currently in the process of getting my ph2 172 back on the road after its spent 2 years sat on the drive.
it's currently got the subframe off while i replace the sump gasket and give it a general service and some love.
While its in bits i'm also changing the manifold to a 182 unit to go with my k-tec matched inlet manifold.

while the manifolds sat in the living room im thinking of wrapping it.
i've searched the forum briefly and seen the general consensus on wrapping vs ceramic coating vs not bothering, and for what i'm looking for a wrap is fine (a little heat protection on brake lines)

my question is, how much wrap will i need? coz i'd rather write the long ass post than measure the manifold im sat next to

cheers guys!

1 10m roll of 2 inch wide should be more than enough. Just make sure you get the overlap even, pull it as tight as it will go, and seal with fire retardant laquer

Just for anyone else having the same idea, i wrapped mine last night. A couple of 'common sense' things to point out.

1. Wear gloves, theres glass fibres in there, its itchy
2. Wear long sleeves, see above
3. Resist the urge to itch, it makes it worse

my arms are finally back to skin colour and the itchyness has stopped, obviously common sense took a holiday yesterday, starting with going to the wrong pizza shop to collect dinner, then doing this in my lap, with no gloves, in a t-shirt.

10 metres is perfect though.
will post photos in a project thread once the car has come along a little further.
