Hello from Dubai!

Hi All,
First post here so i'll introduce myself. I'm john,22 currently living in Dubai,UAE and have placed my order for my 182 with cup pack...they were only released here last July. I honestly can't wait to get the car as i've read so much good press about it. The only thing holding me back is getting my UAE licence. I need a blood test which takes 1-2 weeks to process!!!!! Only in UAE you need a stupid blood test to get a licence,its a royal pain in the arse!!! So hopefully 14 days should see the arrival of my new car in platinum silver. Seen some great pics and vids i'll defo post some up when i get it. Great forum guys

Hi Mike,
Yeah there are few mad cars, lots of expensive cars too getting written off everyday by young kids driving too powerful cars such as SL55's,Cayenne turbo's etc.
The young arabs here are fearless,at night they use one particular piece of road and pretty much play a game where someone follows behind another as close as possible and as fast as possible,seen them doing well over 150mph about 2/3 ft apart. Complete maniacs is the only word i can find. Just trying to get my licence sorted asap,real pain.

Hi,
I dont need to take a test its just getting my british license converted to UAE but they require such stupid and idiotic things such as my blood group,a piece of paper from my employer saying they don't object to me getting a license. Its such a pain in the ass.What ever happened to sending off a picture and a signature with proof of passing your test?!!! And what takes 1/2 days in UK can take 7/8 here...such a slow country.

My dad went over there last year and said it's such a relaxed country and the buildings look really nice too, marble floors etc.

Woohoo!!!! Just had a phone call from the dealer and they have sourced me a black gold 182 with cup pack!!! Over the moon as it was my first choice and was orginally told they didnt have one so i picked platinum silver but i asked nicely and said i was paying cash and BINGO they find one,lol.

lol.I've got a sweet job here plus i'm considering going full time as a poker professional. I have lethal interests/hobbies. Horse Racing,Cars,Women,Poker and Golf. Remember cars here are without VAT so minus 17.5% straight away plus a little bit of haggling never hurt no body!!! lol

Hi Rob,
PMSL....no Dubai is extremely westernised and drivers have lights on after dark, where abouts in Egypt are you refering to? I've been to Cairo and noticed they had lights on after dark. Thanks for all the warm welcome guys,somedays i wish i was back in the UK with the 182 on order!!!!

Yeah weather is perfect at the moment, low 20's in the day and 14/15 at night. Starts to really get warm around May time. 4 days and counting!! Managed to knock a few days off,just going through all the millions and millions pieces of paperwork still
