i had one in boot, ended taking of boot trim and packing out all cables clips, anything that moved in fact, this cured it

you wait till the plastic cubby hole on the top of the dash above the display starts creaking.. now that is annoying... it takes a certain method of driving to get that to squeak ill tell you..

its like an anniversary, you will develop more and more of these as time progresses, almost on a regular basis

I cant stop the left hand side of the windscreen heater vent creaking non stop on bumpy roads over 30mph. Absolutely does my head in!

oh cubby hole, dashtop air vent AND the boot rattle (which curiously only started after reading this strand).

2 weeks and 1500miles in and Im having a rattle festival.

I suppose if its rattling, its still attached in some way

  Shhh

Erm, sounds like the parcel shelf flaps when going over speed bumps. Sounds like i have a rattle in each door, and the cds vibrate in the glove box.

I just turn the music up. Only realised how well the car grips today as accelerating into corners..

The one that used to piss me off the most was the rattle that came from the light housing in the roof. Would rattle between 70 and 85mph (on a test track of course!) was so annoying driving for any period at those speeds. One of the main reasons i sold the car was because of that rattle. Just really got to me over time.

yep thats my cure too !...

I have the boot one, it doesnt do it on smooth roads but of course we dont have too many of them in this country!

Ive tried putting grease in bootlock, removing parcel shelf, taking the light clusters out and checking theres no screws in there, and still does it. Be interested to find a cure!

like i said above, the cure for mine was taking the boot trim of (unscrew the screw on the right, and pop the rest of trim off), i paded out some cables, tied others up as they were rubbing against the trim, i covered the boot lock in grease, i also put blu tack on the plastic popers (both on the boot and the trim) and mine was cured :)

how about removing the boot trim panel, and coating the inside lip in silicon or fitting a weather seal?? its what us ICE people have been doing for years to stop the rattling

surprisingly, it does work

I have identified one of the boot rattles to the rear windscreen wiper! yes the wiper!!! find a road surface that causes the rattle and get out n flip the wiper up get back in n drive hey presto no noise!

I still have one I cant locate its more a clonk as i accellerate..... not the front engine mount but at the rear........ funny though didnt do it yesterday when I had someone in the back!
