HELP ASAP - Does my car have ABS

As most of you may know - I have a 99 Clio RT 1400.

The rear wheel bearing has gone and the mechanic says he needs to know if the car has ABS or not in order to apply the correct bearing - I didnt think it had although it does have an ABS light on the dash.

Does it or doesnt it

he would be able to see the sensor if he takes a peek...

mine doesnt but its a 96 RT, yeah it has the light also but no ABS. dont think you do but surely he could see? oh and if the cars not been started on why not drive it and try to lock up the brakes, thatl tell you

When you turn on the igintion there should be a piccy of a car in a skid that will light up then go out after 3 or so seconds (Usually in yellow) this is the ABS system checking itself, thus if you have this light you have ABS.

Go out and lock it up... Easy to do in the rain but doe it where there is no one about if you are not confident... Like a car park at night so you cant damage anything!

nah go out onto the m1 and try it during rush hour.. that way everyone else gets to try out there abs too..

Lmao... I dont think hes as confident as some of us!

I love to lock the car up... You probably think its funny too, scares passengers but we shouldnt encourage people who arent experienced in the black art of driving like a mailto:w@nker"> w&nker to join us.

I only decided to really test me abs yesterday, i went through a car park, not too fast, slammed the brakes on, stopped pretty quick. but, it either sounded or felt like the wheels had no tyres on and i was sliding across the car park on the rims! If that makes sense!
