help at start up

hello all

when i start my 172 from cold it goes alittle funny and makes a clicking niose accross the dashboard and the dials lift up as usual before shes fire then as she fires they all drop and twitch at bottom point (below empty on the petrol one/below cold on the heater one etc..) until shes kicked in. the niose whens se first fires i thought could be the climate control starting but i have since tried starting with the C/C off and still the same. this only happens whens its cold????????????????????????

Check the battery could be on its way out Halfordss etc will check it for free. Otherwsie check earth connections.

i think it may be an earth connection as when i plug something into the cig lighter it trips out my head unit and head up display any ideas where the earth is for that?

Try the earth down by the gear stick (need to remove the center panel) where the gear lever is. Then try the earth on the top center of the dashboard.

To remove the dash top of the lower center panel?

Both are easy enough just get a Haynes if needs be.
