Help auto wipers

hi i have a ph2 clio 182 and when i bought it i could leave auto wipers in auto mode and they would work without moving the stork each time i got in and out the car but now for em to work i have to turn wipers off and then back to auto each time i turn the car on, is their any solutions as i think my little boy may have done it messing around?????

According to the handbook , everytime the ignition is switched off the auto wipers are deactivated , you have to return to stalk to position A ( off position ) then back to postion B ( Auto wipers ) for it to work.

Personally , i just leave the auto wipers in the off position when i leave the car and move it to position B , auto wipers on , when it's raining . Works ok for me

Can you explain what is the position A and B? My 182 doesn't mention automatic though the lights are auto I believe that the wipers should be as we'll
