HELP!! Body kit....

Hello,

Im going to be driving soon, and im looking to get my first car.
im interested in The clio... hence the reason i am here, I wanted the RENAULT CLIO 3.0 V6 24V Renaultsport 255 3dr. But looking at prices of a cheap used one it costs around £12,000. Also its 3 litre V6 so i dont think i will get insured.

Sooo.....

I was looking around and seen a few replica versions of the car.
The replica is a :
2001 RENAULT CLIO 1.2 16V Expression + 3dr Hatchback

I was looking around on the forums and found people saying that the bodykit lines do not match up etc...
I was wondering what your thoughts are on that car pictured.
The car cost £4,995.

Or,, If anyone has some good links to sites with information and pictures of the replica.

Also, the link shows the front of the car, and side. I can notice the bonnet has a huge gap under it and the front bumper is not the same as the real CLio v6.

Thank you.

Gash IMO. Not a fan at all of vee replica's. Just get a real one or a nice standard Clio and add subtle mods to it.

How old are you anyway?

The V6 is very extreme for a first car! lol.

thats why i was looking at the replicas etc...

I will be driving the end of this year. But i was looking for a car before i start so i can get used to it etc.... Yeah yeah boring stuff lol..

v6 first car? theres a disaster waiting to happen, lol.

the replicas look pants mate, its impossible to get them to look right, just go for a standard clio and mod it a bit (tastefully).

and whatever ur age, insuring a v6 as ur first car would be just insane.

ive seen 2 or 3 MINT v6 replicas.

if your willing to spend the cash getting it to look right then go for it, otherwise dont bother

Yeah, looking around on the net etc.. i have seen some good ones too.
Ive found a good clio which is a 1.2 (should be cheaper to insure ? )
and have found a replica kit for £1,000.

Does anybody have any ideas on the cost of getting it professioanly fitted and gaps filled ETC... SO it looks "MINT" and as clsoe to a real v^ as possible.. ?

As ive said before, im not driving yet, but it would give me time to get it up and going ready for when i can drive.

(thank you for the help so far :) )

i reckon your looking at around the 2-3k mark for it to be perfect, most bodyshops wouldnt touch it apart from the specialists like carisma etc

even then, 6 months down the line filler will start to crack and constant work will need to be redone on it, as thats how it is with over the top bodykits

Don't waste your time mate. Buy a normal car, get some no claims bonus saved up - no crashing or speeding! and then buy a proper one if you still want one.

By the time you've taken a 1.2 Clio, blown £1,000 on the kit + s**t loads more getting it done properly, you'll have a proper one.

Nine times out of ten the modified Clio with the bodykit on can cost as much if not more to insure than the real thing itself.

the silver one is diabolical! lol...
But.... it looks very much like the one i posted in the original link ... oh dear god! haha

V6 replicas are horrid. And getting insured on a modded car when you first start driving can be hard, i struggled and the only mod it had was alloys! Save your money and buy something that looks nice!
