help cam belt change is due

hi i need to change my cam belt as it is due i no they cost loads to do but does aby one no where is the best place to take it an get it done at the right money thanks peeps.

I got mine done at RS Tuning in Leeds, quite a few peopl told me to go there. My local dealership wanted just under £700 to do it, RS Tuning charged my around 450 (i think). It was a couple of months ago.

Yes. Mine is 02 reg and had done 46k miles when I got it changed. Actually, the car isn't 5 year old until sometime this month, but I didn't want to risk it and just got it done. Also got a 48k service done at the same time.

You certainly do.....i bought my at an auction relatively cheap and in the 2 months i've had it, it has cost me another £1,200 in things like service, cam belt, new exhaust, air con problems.

Worth it though

£510 with club discount.

Though remember that price is for a full fat 172 with aircon, and with an aux belt change as well, which he automatically does when changing the cambelt.

Not too bad really, when Renault wanted £650 to do it without aux belt!

yeh hillpower do the cambelt and aux belt at the same time all inc of the £510, had aux belt done there yesterday, i'd recommend nick to anyone

i dont no where to get it done but what ever you do dont think ill just wait a couple of weeks to get it done if it needs urgently doing...... i waited a while and while going down the motor way at 70mph (more like 90 lol) my cambelt snapped.... involved a lot of swearing some tears lol a dented front quater pannel and a new engine so get it done asap

You have to chnage the AUX belt when you do the cambely its not optional. The belt all has to come offa dn replaced so its no extra realy for the aux belt £12 for the belt if they are picky. But it has to be replaced as no aux belt cna ever ben retensioned as part of the rules.
