Ideally it needs to get plugged in for diagnostics but the coil packs on these aren't a great design and you tend to find moisture gets in around the rubber seals where the fly-leads come out of the actual coilpack. You can either buy a cheap autofactor unit for around £30 that will do the same thing in 3-6months time or you can buy a genuine Renault item for around £55 that will last a lot longer!

ive took the car round to a mechanic today and he seems to think it may be my exhaust back box has collapsed as it doesnt back fire and the engine and coil pack seem fine, so if my back box has collapased would it make the car behave like this?

Definetly miss firing, I had the exact same problem turned out I had a faulty spark plug, check your getting a spark on each cylinder.

If the spark plugs are fine it will be the leads/coilpack although you said you've had these checked, can't see it being the backbox unless your cats collapsed.

the engine seems to be running too smooth for it to be a spark plug that why im think it maybe my cat, ill post a video and show you how smooth the engine is.

Hi mate,

Did the plugs look ok?

Thanks

havent had a look at them going to start with the cat and work my way up as i think it may be a collapsed cat.
