HELP: component depth etc...

ok, so we all have clios', and i guess some or the majority of us hav upgraded tyou door speakers.

however i haven't so what the max depth of speaker our doors/ windows can take??

and what the best affordable ones out there??

standard size is 5.25" front and rear but it all depends on what you're willing to do! a few people on here have bodged the door cards and fitted mdf baffle rings to allow for 6.5" or you could alway opt for building fibre glass pods. have a search on here.

no i just wanted to fit them behind the door cards, wanna keep them subtle with good quality sound...

do you know if anyones had any prob with the depth of the speakers and the window not going down all the way??

yea people have in a differnt one that i did asking for help with amps and wiring. people on this forum seem to be all speed freaks with roll cages re-trimming an mechanical

you would need to go really deep to stop the window from going up and down, lift you speaker out and have a look for urself, 2 torx's hold it in. 5.5inch i think is the max depth you can have it without having to cut the plastic away.

its just that my mate had vibe components in his mk1 clio, and the window couldnt go all the way down...

no its not. but thats exactly why i'm asking i dont want to fork out 70notes on speakers for my windows not to open. its a ph2b.

should be fine with any normal, reasonably known brand name speakers Both my sets of components fitted in with no problems
