i have a 1.2 atm

the whole idea was for it to be a show car, but ive gone off that idea, as i cant see it going to all that many shows due to having a massive alling out with my club.
so now im tempted by a 172/182

mines on 02 plate so anything on that or newer id say my car was worth 4k ish without the wheels and i can get another 2k

dont think i can get even a 172 for that and insure it can i ??

a mk1 172 yes, mk2 no. But I would go for it definately, I've enjoyed every minute of my 172.

  172 Cup
i'm 21 and just got hold of 52 plate 172cup for £6500, then £900 for insurance, i'd say you'll need about £7000 minimum, but depends really on finding the right car and the best insurance quote

Tough decision. With a faster cars comes more expensive running costs.

Its not just insurance you have to think about it.. Tax is now £190 for 12mths, you'll definately use much more petrol. Not sure how many miles you do but my Mini used to do £10 a week, my Civic uses £30 a week. Its all relative as the month goes on.

Servicing is generally more expensive too and of course when bits do break they are generally more expensive to replace on sportier cars.

That aside

Yes you can get a nice 172 for 5-6k but insurance will be on top of that. There are 172's knocking around under that price tag but to be honest - they seem a little too cheap.

yeah i want a mk2 , all the quotes i seem to be getting are about 2.5k ish for insurance, id get a couple of ton back from sellin the standard wheels i guess

If you can stretch to it then do it, I very much doubt you'd regret it.

Like DarthCake said, you'll need more cash when it comes to service / tax / tyre replacement time, but generally you probably won't notice this.

If you do a lot of miles you'll notice a big difference in petrol!

i do about 1000 a month, really goin to look hard at my finances, goin to ring my insurance up and ask how much etc but im not payin more than 1.5k on insurance

Can I also add - based on your current employment at Peugeot I'd advise against it. Sort out what you want to do with your job and then look at getting a new car. :)
