Help finding a garage

I have the common whinning noise coming from my phase 1 172 I have taken it to the only renault garage in medway kent but they want £230 just in labour plus the part which i was told could be anything from £15 to £100 this seems very pricey as I have read on here it costing a lot less can anyone recommend a garage I could take it to dont mind travelling a bit ...

I've no idea what the fault is but I'm in Essex and it takes me 90mins to get to Portsmouth.

Sounds like the cambelt tensioners or aux belt pretensionser are the problem.
Personally I'd take it to another garage see what they say it might just be the AUX belt temsioners what milage are you on they might not have chnaged them when they chnaged the AUX belt if the garage wanted to save time although they shoudl always be chnaged.

To elaborate a bit more had the cam belt done about 6 months ago I was told the Aux belt was changed too dont know if any pretensioners where done for the Aux though ..the car has done 56000, its just £229 for labour on this sounds steep ...
