HELP>HOW DO I GET EMISSIONS DOWN

  Mini Cooper S JCW

right my mot now expired about 2 weeks ago..... so far....

K&N Cleaned
ECU Checked for faults (none)
Lambda Sensor (new)
Fuel Additives
Cat checked for holes (none)
possible oil/oil filer change...
these are the things my car has had done and its still just over the 0.30 CO%.... we are taking very small margins ( 0.33%) and it just wont say under 0.30% on fast idle (in neutral revving to about 2-5k).

can anyone think of wot else i could try?????? im getting deperate now

Marc.

well the co2 content is non adjustable on some valvers have you tried checking the charcol canister behind the front bumper drivers side. or putting the standard airbox back on. it hasent got a pbv rite if so try turning that down

yeah im taking it down the arches tomorrow and the bloke says hes gonna try stickin an orginal airbox on to see if makes any difference.

PBV - nope not got 1, my mate who owns the garage says it wont make a difference...... is he right?

yea its hot mate..... its odd tho as when the new lambda sensor woz fitted, and running cold, the car woz passing for a short time ( 0.20s), but when he took it mot center it fcuking fail again. god its driving me mad, i abotu crap myself whenever a cop looks at me:confused:

so wots that induction type thing? maybe sticking the original airbox on if i can source 1 in a day!

Marc.

take it out and give it a real good thrash for about half an hour to an hour, then take it in straight away, dont let her cool down at all, straight onto the machine, with original airbox and she might pass, they are fussy with emissions valvers anyway

haha funny u mention that paul..... been down the arches and they said they will c wot we can do 4 ya lad ;)

going in 2mos, lets hope it passes, iv got a small feeling it might do !!

Marc. :D

I thought the limit was 0.50% for the idle test. My last MoT emissions printout says this and my car had the figure of 0.49%!!!!

Are the garage doing more strict emissions tests than theyre meant to??

Natural Idle test is <0.50%
Fast Idle test is <0.30%
