Help! I have removed the washers under the seat and they now won't slide!

  BG182 FF
Hi can anyone help me please. I have removed the washers under the front seats so they sit a little bit lower. However now the seat won't slide forward and backwards. Is this because the runner is now on the carpet?

I see a few people on here have done it so how did they get this to work? Is it just a case of loosening the bolts underneath a little rather than cranking them up?

Many thanks everyone!

You either have to force the seat with all your might, or trim the carpet.

Don't loosen the bolts.

Three things stop the runners sliding smoothly:

1) touching something.
2) being anything but perfectly parallel (manufacturing tolerances of seat, the order in which you tighten the bolts up, manufacturing tolerance of the lever) - it's really not a very robust design and a lot of opportunities for things to become a little misaligned.
3) being full of crap.

Well worth taking the time to do bolts up slowly in a cross pattern & wiggle the seat around as you do it or maybe have a few goes, remove/clean/lubricate the rails, get all the hair/carpet/crap out of the slider mechanism etc etc
