HELP I've lost my internet access

  1998 BMW e46 323i
Was trying to switch channels in the router settings,

but, err, I think I have just turned my routers access point/radio off. I cannot connect to it, and am using a friend's wifi now. How do I turn the access back on?

P.S. I know I'm stupid; was only trying to change the channel again, due to more interference

If you've messed up, or turned off wireless access, you'll have to access it via an ethernet cable and alter the settings that way :)

Little more info mate, make of router?
Can you connect to its management interface? are you able to hard wire your PC to it to change the settings back if you cant connect via wireless?

I've re-set it. it's a netgear sky job, and I'm unable to connect to the interface with the ethernet... don't think my pc has the drivers for it or something

How did you alter the settings earlier mate... when you broke it hehe. You should just be able to access it from an IE\Firefox window, it's normally an address like 192.168.0.1

lol i'm sure we've all made that error a few times, I like to tinker about too :D

After you've reset the router, what happens now when you try and connect to that address ?

Disable "wireless network connection" on your pc; plug in cables; enable ethernet; access the router (netgear should be 192.160.0.1); configure away!

Reverse the above to wirelessly roam the internet again ;)
