HELP! Leeking everywhere!

  TT 225
Washed the car as per normal, went to asda for about 15 mins, came outside and there is a big puddle of green/yellow right at the front of the car underneath the radiator (dripping from). I got home drove up onto some wood to see if i could see anything. The dripping stopped, i reversed back down so the car was level and it starts dripping pretty quickly again. I thinks its oil but i dont know where its coming from or why its doing this?

Here are a few pics.

You got breakdown cover? if not get it and then phone them up

if it is def coming from your rad then its your colant mate if its off the radiator.

how much fluid is in your expansion tank? coolant bottle...

check all you resovoirs to see if one has gone down.

Have you got air con? could also be these maybe.

dont drive it until you work it out cos if you overheat = big damage to you cylinder head which means rebuild / new engine time.

Is it oil or water? go and look at the fluid bottles everywhere, becareful if its warm, i.e the coolant doesnt splash in your face if you take the lid off.

AND DONT PUT COLD WATER STRAIGHT IN IF IT IS EMPTY!!!

USE LUKE WARM / HOT WATER.

the cold water suddenly on the scene could cause damage to the cylinder head to in some cases.

its not water, i caught a drip and it was luke warm if that helps, it has stopped now but i reckon when i start her up again the dripping will continue.

Have you checked all your fluid levels, should be pretty obvious to tell what it is.

its the coolant i think, eveything else looks fine, there is about 3cm on liquid in the tub now, the level is about 3-4cm down in the tank. where do i go from here?

EDIT: as i took the lid of the tank it started dripping again.

so is your coolant below the min line? have you topped it up recently so you'd now know its running low?

does the coolant only flow to radiator after it has reached a certain temp? not sure what that is. That probably why it doesnt leak when the engine is cold, the thermostat has shut off.

yep thats right.

So basicly, your radiator has a hole in it OR one of you pipes has split / is loose. either way, get someone to look at it. join AA is your best bit, get towed to a garage that can sort it if you are not really upto it as such.

dont drive it!

If it's the radiator then you could give radweld a go, wont hurt to try. If not a new rad would be cheap enough from a factors if you're happy fitting yourself.
