not sure if its in right section but my 172ff mk2 keeps reving on its own its at 2k when its should be on idle tick over any ideas what it is thank you

has the inlet mainifold been off lately mate? sounds like a possible air leak

Could be the throttle cable getting stuck ?

Throttle body needs cleaning? That little pipe has come off the back?

Also no such car as a 172FF

Cant be throttle cable as its fly by wire on phase 2.. sounds like air like leak after on the inlet manifold. Could be a possible throttle potentiometer fault also, giving the wrong resistance value to the ECU?
