HELP, More Electric Window Issues.

Rob

So after my previous problematic threads I finally went for it today and managed to get the motors from the scenic (which I assume are the same as the ones in 1*2) working.

I have the motors spinning in both directions with the switch, great.

Now here's the issue's:

Just took my motor half out, and it looks slightly different, and the mounting points arent the same, this isnt a massive concern as i can just drill holes in the door skin if need be.

There are some other differences too though... In that on the motors I bought you can see the cables wrapped round the motor, on the one on the car you cant as they are covered.

Here's a pic of my motors, if anyone has one to hand of theirs it would be much appreciated.

The other thing that worries me is I only took the motor from the breakers, I cut the cables from it and left behind the runner as I just thought I could use mine, is this going to be impossible?

Also, how do you get the runner out? Does not seem to want to come out, is it bolted to the window or something?

What I want to do is just fit my cable onto this motor and be done with it :(

Here is my motor with the cable and outter casing removed, was quite easy....

All help really appreciated.

No one wanna shed some light? I have some ideas on what I'm going to do but if it fails I'll be stuck with a window propped up by wood.

Not to mention johsydee is not returning my wanting whole electric window set up pms! So if you read this, pm me!

mate would it not be simplier to get both complete window regulators from a scrapper and get the dorr wiring looms while your there?

I have all the wiring for the switches working now, no problems at all. (Quite proud of this tbh ;) )

I'm trying to contact josh from cliospares to see what he wants fro a complete motor and runner setup.

Problem being, Daniel outlined to me that these current electric windows are infact a retro fit, bodged by renault, so I think the mounting for the motors is slightly different.

I'm 99% sure that the motors are mk1 motors and the bolts are spaced differently, I'll just have to drill the door I guess.

The plan for saturday is to try and get the old cables into the new motors, if I can do this then I'll be 100% sorted.

Looks like your making some progress mate! Pain in the @rse I bet!

My passenger window switch on the drivers side blew a bulb the other day p!ssed.. Got any spare switches seeing as you have probably stripped that entire Scenic by now :rasp:

I have actually mate. I'm gonna be taking the plunge tonight and taking the old motor out to try thread the cables onto the new one.

Once i've got one motor working i'll test all the switches and give you on if i have enough that work.

I never knew there was a clip on the window though, and without getting that off its ni on impossible to remove!!!

Off now, solved, although I see what you mean about needing two pairs of hands for getting the cable back on!! Will have to get a mate tmrw.
