My freecom 80 gig drive isnt running. There is no power light on the unit.
I need to rescue some client info from the drive. Anyone have any ideas how to get it running?
Thanks

If it's gone, it's gone mate HD's are a ****.

Check cable.
Check fuse.
Check plug.
Check connection.
Try booting into a freecom HD utility and see if its visible.

Failing all that try it on another PC. But my gut feeling is if it's not the connection, your only hope is data recovery from a specialist at £500+

:(

I was being serious too, my mate at work was complaining about his 250gig drive and he had a faulty connection which wasnt plugged in correctly. Works now.

If you can remove the drive from the caddy, try it on the IDE cable of a desktop puter.

Depends on what type of external drive it is.

ive given the power cord a wiggle and still nowt.
Gonna try and find another power adaptor from work. The plug is solid so cant check the fuse.
Im gonna have to crack it open

Thanks for the words chaps
